2. Companion

Top Apps

Are you afraid to travel alone? Traveling from a sketchy area?  This app might just help you! Companion lets you reach out to family, friends, or your public safety department to have them keep an eye on you as you travel late at night.

Plug in your destination and select your mode of transportation.Add friends or family to be your Companion. They don’t even need the app installed to watch your back! Reach out to your Companions or your local police department with just a tap. If you set off a Smart Trigger, we’ll check in to make sure you’re safe. If you don’t respond, we’ll alert your Companions.

Anyone in your contact book can be your Companion, they don’t even need to have the app installed! Companion works in the background. Simply start a trip and place your phone in your pocket. Focus on staying safe, not setting up a timer or keeping your finger pressed down.

3. Musixmatch

Top Apps

MusixMatch shows you lyrics for the currently playing song, displaying them in a beautiful floating interface on top of the album artwork and integrating with major Android and iOS music players, including Apple Music, Google Play Music, Spotify, and SoundCloud.

The app’s core feature is the MusicID screen, which is similar to Shazam and other similar apps: hold your iPhone or iPad up to a speaker, and the microphone will listen to identify a song.

Another notable feature is the Lyrics Card – this creates a beautiful image from the lyrics of the song with beautiful backgrounds. These images can be saved to your device for using them on your social media.

Available On: iOS , Android

Price: Free

4. Tweetbot for Twitter

Top Apps

What started as a moderately advanced take on Twitter clients by Tapbots has evolved with time into a powerful app that spans three platforms and that comes with dozens of unique features and a solid engine that, for me, has no equal.

The interface is gesture driven, swiping to the left on a tweet opens up the new full tweet view. From here, you can see replies, more of the inline conversation and any media associated with the tweet. Tapping on a photo brings it up to full screen and swiping it away makes it disappear in a card-like manner. Tapping on a tweet in one of your timelines shows all the normal options, including the ability to reply, retweet, favorite, share and view more details.

One major reason to use TweetBot is that unlike the official Twitter for iOS app, Tweetbot continues to support Instagram, which means that you can still see Instagram photos from friends on your timeline without having to pop to a separate browser page.

If you are a serious Twitter user who wants more than what is offered in the official client, but with an interface that still fits that type of workflow, Tweetbot 3 is for you.

Available On: iOS

Price: INR 300

5. Fenix

Top Apps

Fenix is to Android what Tweetbot is to iOS. It’s the best third-party Twitter client you’ll find – for many reasons. Not only does it look good, but it’s easy to use, customizable, and feature-packed. The app also gives users enhanced control over the look and feel, with the option to use one of three different themes: light, dark, or black. You can view Images in timeline , including Instagram GIFs now! Ability to mute hashtags, users, etc.

You can swipe between the columns and everything flows and looks so nice and smooth.  Easy access to lists and saved searches is great, and it may end up encouraging me to use those functions far more. Also customizing is made easy – you can pick and choose the screens/tabs you want, the notifications you want, etc. Oh, and if you’re into stuff like having multiple tweet drafts, multiple accounts, that’s there too.
And Best of all, no promoted tweets.

Available On: Android

Price: INR 311
