Lava Iris 406Q Full Review – Full details, FAQ’s Answered

Lava Iris 406Q Full Review

Lava Iris 406Q is a budget device with some amazing specifications that will shock you for this price.

This Review will include every possible details and FAQ’s asked by you guyz.

Physical Overview

On the front you have 0.3Mp VGA Camera, earpiece/speaker is same, Some Sensors on top. The Display on the front is a 4.0 inch WVGA resolution display and the bottom you have 3 touch capacitive buttons.

On the back you have a glossy finish cove with some texture, back cover feels loose and is also difficult to remove almost always.

On the left you have nothing.

On the right you have Power/Lock button and Volume control Key.

On top you have Micro USB port for charging/ Syncing with PC and a 3.5mm Headphone Jack.

UI, Software and Customization

UI Looks really stockish but there is a bit of customization and themes added which eats up a good amount of Ram around 500+ Mb. Experience is smooth and no lags as such in normal usage. android 4.4 Update might bring some changes as Kitkat requirements are lower than Jelly Bean so performance might improve.

It has a 5Mp Fixed focus rear camera with LED Flash but the performance indoor is not good but outdoors is slightly better and also Front facing VGA Camera works fine. Video Playback is good and sound is average.

Gaming was impressive for this although you wont be able to install more than 1 High End game as apps are not movable to external SD card. Ram available is very low out of the box, gaming would be much more better if Ram available was more as it would reduce loading time and performance to some extent.

Scores will just shock you as for this price they were just one word Amazing!!

  • The device doesn’t heats up until you play games for too long time  (30-40 mins) which i feel every Android device will.
  • Apps are not movable to SD card.
  • Android 4.4 update was available but is removed now because it was not getting installed.

Lava Iris 406Q has got the tag of cheapest Android 4.4 Kitkat Phone with some amazing set of specification like Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.2GHz Processor, 1GB Ram and a Price tag of Rs 6999, you can see below in detail.

Lava Iris 406 Specifications

  • 4.0 inch WVGA Display
  • 1.2GHz Quad Core Snapdragon Processor
  • 1GB Ram
  • Android 4.3 (Guaranteed 4.4 Kitkat Update)
  • 5Mp Fixed Focus Camera with Flash
  • 0.3Mp/VGA Front Camera
  • 1700Mah Battery
  • 3G, Bluetooth, Wifi
  • Dual Sim

All this for Rs 6999 (Flipkart) will definitely turn everyone’s attention but is it worth? lets have a initial look.

Box contents

  • Lava Iris 406Q (Black)
  • In-Ear style Flat cable earphones
  • USB – Micro USB Cable
  • 1700mAh Battery
  • Screen Guard
  • Flip Cover
  • User Manual

The Box Contents really impressed me as for Rs 6999 you get Flip Cover and Screen Guard Free!

When I turned on the device the device was smooth and responsive. Internal Storage is around (0.93GB + 1.5GB), 430Mb Ram free and i got the Android 4.4 update immediately but was somehow unable to update it.

There is lot of small tweaks and customization from Lava which reduces the Ram just to 460Mb which is disappointing i feel and we will soon find out whether it affects gaming or not.

The Viewing angels and screen is not that great but good for this price. Auto-focus is missing in camera section which might be disappointment for people who love photography.
