Samsung has been in news lately with all of it’s Galaxy s7 and s7 Edge rumors. Meanwhile it has quietly announced 2016 updates for their A series. The Samsung Galaxy A7(2016) and Samsung Galaxy A5(2016) will be available to the masses from the 15th of February. Both the devices share a combination of Metal and glass in their built, thus making them similar in looks to the Note and the Galaxy series.
Spec wise there isn’t a much of a difference between the A7 and the A5 with screen size being the major differentiator. The Samsung Galaxy A7 sports a 5.5 inches display whereas the A5 sports a smaller 5.1 inches one. Both being covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 4.
Both the devices run on the same octa-core Exynos 7580 chip-set clocked at 1.6 Ghz . Both feature a 16Gb of internal storage. While the A7 has a separate MicroSd slot along with dual sim slots, the A5 has a hybrid MicroSd/sim slot both being expandable up to 128Gb.
The A7 has 13 MP f/1.9 aperture rear shooter accompanied with a 5 MP wide angled from camera. The same combination is also present in the A5.Inclusion of a fingerprint scanner is a welcomed addition in the A Series.
While the A7 has a 3,300 mAh non-removable battery to power it’s Full HD Super AMOLED display , the A5 has to be contained with a smaller 2,900 mAh one. Though it’s nice that both the devices support Samsung’s fast charging.
The software at time of shipping will be 5.1 Android Lollipop and will support Category 6 LTE on both sim cards along with usual connectivity via WiFi ,Bluetooth , GPS , NFC.
The Galaxy A7 will be launched at Rs.33,400 where as the Galaxy A5 will be priced lower at Rs.29,400. With market getting flooded with more and more cheap flagship equivalent devices every day, will the Samsung’s Mid order series hold it’s market at such a high price?
