Meizu has announced the Meizu Blue Charm Metal, the company’s first smartphone that runs on Alibaba’s YunOS with Flyme UI on top.
The Meizu Blue Charm Metal looks a lot like the iPhone 6s – to the extent that the picture advertised on the website is same as one on the Apple website. Speaking of similarities, as the name indicates, it has a unibody custom metal alloy build.
It also has dual SIM support with 4G TD/FDD-LTE support in both the SIMs. The second SIM can also be used as a microSD expansion slot if needed, this is a very good idea and many smartphone manufacturers are taking advantage of this. It gives you a higher degree of flexibility.
It has mTouch 2.1 fingerprint sensor from FCP integrated into the home button that can unlock the phone in 0.48 seconds and the mBack touch-sensitive button offers different functions depending on how hard you press it. Overall there are two finger sensors – one for controlling the gestures and one for unlocking the phone.
The deciding factor on the phone will be the new OS. The Meizu Blue Charm Metal runs on Alibaba’s YunOS with Flyme UI on top. Both the OS and the skin are new to the smartphone world. It’s yet to be seen how they perform in comparison to Android OS. Other than that, the phone has a solid build quality and we are eager to see how it performs.
