The mobile market has already been flooded with new Chinese entrants offering you flagship like features at a fraction of the cost and LeTv is joining the race with their new offering the LeTv LeMax. LeMax boasts some top notch specs.
LeTV LeMax has a uni-body metal chassis and sports a huge 6.33 inch QHD display with a stunning 2K resolution (464 ppi) and one of the thinnest bezels if not the thinnest on a smartphone. All of those pixels are powered by a 64 bit Snapdragon 810 SoC , Adreno 430 GPU and 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM. It sports a 21 MP Sony Camera capable of shooting 4K videos at the back armed with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) and a dual tone LED flash for steady and crisp photos. A wide angle 4MP shooter is provided in the front for those selfies. Beneath the camera lies the finger print scanner. This place isn’t new anymore and we have seen many successful implementation of the same. Though the speed and accuracy of the scanner is yet to be tested.
A thing to be noted is that the phone has a USB C type connector which make the phone Future proof. They also provide a Micro USB to USB C converter so don’t throw your old cables yet. Well the usual package of Bluetooth , 802.11 b / g / n WIFI , Dual SIM 4G, GPS, NFC , 3.5 mm Headphone Jack and 3 illuminated capacitive keys in the front is present . All this is packed along with a solid 3400 mAh non user removable battery. The lack of SD Card slot is forgivable considering the fact that this device is available in 64 GB at Rs.32,999/- and 128 GB Sapphire crystal display variant for Rs.69,999/- . This makes LeMax more expensive as it’s obvious competitors lie in mid 2oK range.
Talking about the software LeTv offers you it’s take on android EUI. EUI is a skinned version of android based on android 5.0 Lollipop. Though the company promises to bring Marshmallow on the table ASAP. The UI would surely take some practice to get used and like most Chinese UI’S doesn’t offer you an App drawer. EUI is centered towards LeTv’s entertainment streaming background which they plan to expand in India. It is available in Silver and Gold color.
So did this phone manage to grab your attention. Will it be able to survive in this cut throat market despite of it’s higher pricing? Time will tell. But LeTv sure have shown some promise in this device. Tell us in the comments below what do you think.
