The Lenovo Vibe S1 has just been officially unveiled as the first phone with a dual front-facing camera setup that will make it possible to adorn your selfies with some cool effects.
For most smartphone makers, an 8-megapixel front-facing camera is something to crow about, but not for Lenovo, with its new Lenovo Vibe S1, Lenovo tops itself by adding a second, 2-megapixel front facing camera that’s meant to add more depth and dimension to self-portraits. How cool is that ?
Most phones now include filters to smooth skin tone, but Lenovo is the first to address depth of field – specifically for selfies with a second front-facing camera lens with Lenovo Vibe S1.
So while the 8 megapixel cam is the main driver for your image, the secondary 2MP shooter is used to get a sense of depth and this can be used to add a ‘bokeh’ blurred background effect to images, but also get rid of a photo bomber or altogether replace the background of a selfie and make it appear as if it’s taken near, say Taj Mahal or some random place as shown in the image below.
