Apple has sent out invites for an event on March 21st at its campus. The Cupertino, California, company on Thursday sent out invitations to an event taking place at 10 a.m. PT on March 21 at its headquarters.
The invite teases, “Let us loop you in.” The conservative reading is that it’s happening at Apple’s HQ, whose address is of course “One Infinite Loop.”
Headlining the event will be the 4-inch iPhone SE and a new 9.7-inch iPad. Rumors suggest the iPhone SE will look nearly identical to the iPhone 5s, but it will include new internal hardware that brings it in line with newer Apple devices. It is rumored to have an A9 chip, an improved camera, and NFC support for use with Apple Pay.
Also, rumored changes include adopting the larger iPad Pro’s quad-speaker design, adding Apple Pencil support, bumping up from the A8X and M8 chips to the A9X and M9 chips, a possible Smart Connector, and maybe even a rear flash for photography which would be a first for any iPad.
Another major thing to notice is that Apple is holding the event right before the FBI hearing date. We anticipate there’s going to be a huge focus on privacy and security. We are eager to how that move plays out. These keynotes are Apple’s biggest stage and this one is literally happening on Apple’s home turf, so it would be surprising if Cook didn’t say something.
AllAboutTechnologies will be covering the event in detail on March 21st; as many of you already know, I’m really excited for this one so stay tuned!
