If you’re like me, you’ll often find yourself nostalgic for the pre-digital days where photos often naturally had a sepia tint and weren’t instantly viewable. But, you’ll also appreciate – and frequently take advantage of – the convenience of having a camera in your phone, on you at all times.
Hipstamatic keeps the quirks of shooting old school but gives you the ability to swap lenses, film, and flash settings all with the swipe of a finger. Created by Synthetic Corp, the analog camera emulating app lets you shoot photos that look old fashioned.
The app provides several vignetted, unsaturated filters as well as very vibrant, bright filters and film options to recreate vintage looking images, and has its own social network with other photographers interested in the same style.

1Password is well loved and well-regarded for offering a powerful and secure password manager and digital wallet in a really sharp-looking package that shines on every platform it runs on. It’s flexible, easy to use, works seamlessly in just about every web browser, and packs in the same features that you’ve come to expect from a premium password manager and secure document storage tool.
1Password looks great, comes with a strong password generator to help you pick good passwords every time you change one, secure notes for other passwords or notes that you want to keep private, a digital wallet for bank accounts and payment info, and a password “recipe” builder that lets you customize your passwords to your demands instead of just accepting whatever algorithm the password generator spits out at you.
Perhaps best of all, 1Password can be used locally only, without syncing any information to the web, or you can use it across all of your devices by syncing your encrypted vault via Dropbox, iCloud, Wi-Fi, or shared network folders, it’s completely up to you. You can also set up emergency contacts and share passwords with authorized users. You can even keep multiple vaults for different types of passwords.
4. Droid Optimizer
Most devices nowadays are packed with tons of RAM and processing power, and while some phones may ship with lots of internal storage space you’ll often find the ones that don’t at least allow you to expand the available storage via a microSD card. With all this room to move about things can get a little cluttered and messy, and that device that you once thought was blazing fast can get bogged down quickly.
Droid Optimizer combines a number of these tasks into a completely free package, one that doesn’t include ads or any sort of payment, and better yet one that doesn’t feature any suspicious app permissions either. The best part about the app size management is that it’s on a per-file basis, letting you whittle down the size of many apps without having to completely clear all data from one.
Other features include, RAM management, especially on phones with less RAM than desirable, Super fast and well organized, easy to use app, easy to find those annoying files taking up your free space, helps identify suspicious apps installed on your device, Free as free can be, no ads, no weird information stealing permissions, etc.
