Apple today finally sent out invites for its September 9 event, where it will unveil the next-generation iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.
While we are already expecting the iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, a refreshed Apple TV, possible new iPads and more, earlier rumors pointed to the small chance that Apple might also introduce a 4-inch iPhone 6c.
On your iOS device ask Siri for a hint, and you get some of the best and wittiest answers possible.
Siri also can’t help but take a dig at your over inquisitive nature with answers like, ‘You’ll have to wait until 9 September. I bet you were one of those kids who snuck downstairs to open presents earlier, weren’t you?’
Things we will see on Apple’s September 9 Event
The iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus
Yes, that name “iPhone 6s Plus” sound terrible, but we can’t do anything about it. The damage has already been done. The most recent leaks indicate both smartphones will feature 12-megapixel cameras that can film 4K video, Apple’s new A9 processor, 2GB of RAM and faster LTE speeds. The new devices are also expected to be the first iPhones to incorporate the Force Touch technology that Apple debuted with the Apple Watch
The news outlet said Apple is working to add new animated wallpapers into the user interface in iOS 9 for the iPhone 6s and, presumably, the iPhone 6s Plus. The wallpapers are said to be more fluid, like those on the Apple Watch, as opposed to the “dynamic” wallpapers currently offered, which aren’t as “alive” feeling.

The iPad Air 3 and the iPad mini 4
Apple is still trying to keep its tablets relevant with another refresh of both its standard iPad Air and its smaller iPad mini tablets. Don’t expect a major haul or something, same old spec upgrades only. The iPad mini 4 is the device that’s supposed to get the biggest makeover, as rumors have claimed it’s going to be redesigned to look much more like the iPad Air, complete with a frame that is just 6.3 millimeters thick.
Refreshed Apple TV set-top box
Apple has ambitious plans for the TV market and it’s all going to start with the new Apple TV set-top box. Earlier reports about the new box claim it will feature an A8 processor and a completely redesigned remote control with touch pad input designed to significantly improve its responsiveness. The set-top box will also come with Siri integration to make it easier to control your TV via voice. It is also said that it will act like a home control device or central hub.
Things you won’t see at Apple’s September 9 Event
- The iPhone 6c, which is rumored to be a smaller version of Apple’s flagship iPhone lineup. Apple is apparently going to keep selling the iPhone 5s to interested buyers for at least a little while longer.
- The 12.9-inch “iPad Pro” that Apple will push as a competitor to Microsoft’s Surface line of tablet-PC hybrids.
